ART | PAINTING IN PROGRESS

Just wanted to share with you, my latest painting in progress. It doesn’t have any title yet. The inspiration comes from my “Love Thy Self” painting I finished earlier this year. That painting has been featured in the RegenerArt Ebook.

During the lockdown, I have painted so many dogs, which are all going to have a wonderful new home. I am super sad that they are leaving. I am also very happy and proud, they get to have a new home. Luckily this dog is going to stay a bit longer with me. I got the inspiration from my friend’s lovely dog in the Netherlands, who is super cute.

As you can see in the painting there is the apple, who is alive. There is also this beautiful powerful black lady who might not be human with her very protective dog. I love paintings where you can image your own fantasy/ story by looking at it. I love when the painter adds some clues or hidden messages in the painting.

As the title suggests, it is still in progress. I might add some new elements in on a later stage. For now, I think it is nice to document the progress as it is. At least for me, it is nice to see how I progress in painting :).

I am actually very happy with the dog so far. For me, painting a dog, I usually do in one session, alla prima. That just works the best for me. When I start, I have to make sure I am satisfied with the end result in that session.

Hoping you like this kind of blog posts about my journey in painting. I really enjoy painting, it is relaxing and therapeutic for me. I would love to improve my skills and see how this will change in the future.

Update – in the end I left the painting as it is and named it UNION OF THREE.

Bye for now,

HELLO LONDON | CANAL WALK

Hello Lovely People and welcome back to a (finally after a long time) Hello London blogpost! 2020 has been a really challenging year so far. I hope you all are well and safe and that you haven’t been affected by the Covid-19 situation.

For me personally, this has been a year of a lot of growth and self-love. I appreciate much more the time I spend with others, but most importantly the time I spend with myself. Can you imagine how fast time flies? Me neither! Beginning of the quarantine, even when I am working from home, I thought this is going to be the longest lockdown ever. Of course like everyone else I had some up and downs during the lockdown, but I am happy that I was wrong and that the time flew away. I found so many creative inspiration and growth which helped me to get through some tough times as well as being isolated. Wow, let’s be proud we all made it through the lockdown period and that most of 2020 have been gone. Let’s pray that the COVID-19 will go and we can enjoy travelling and each other again and please appreciate the time you can spend with people you love and care for.

So from the end of July, the beginning of August 2020 restaurants, bars and museums are slowly opening up again. It feels good to see people enjoy the outside life again. Hopefully, I can book a visit to the museum again soon.

With the beautiful weather recently, I was happy to meet up with a friend and do a walk near the canal from Kings Cross, Camden town to Primrose Hill. I definitely recommend walking around the city, if you live in or near the city centre. So many places you can just walk to and every corner in the city centre is beautiful. Next to a nice company and great chat we had during the walk, we did a bit of exercise as well. Can you believe it we walked for more than 12 km in 4 hours?

Kings Cross and St Pancras is such a beautiful place with the restaurants near Granary Square, the Coal Drops Yard and of course the canal. A lovely place to meet up, but also a place to see people enjoy the weather and each other’s companies.

Below some of the impression of the route we walk, so bring a camera or just use your phone as I did and make some memories. I didn’t edit the pictures below. They are taken with my Honor 10.

POETRY | A LETTER TO MYSELF

Dear You,

You are just doing great. Keep on going and don’t worry, you are heading the right way.

I know life hasn’t been always fair to you, but know that everything happens for a reason.

You love cooking your dinners. For some, this might seem normal, but for you, it is pretty special. It means that you are getting back to your true you.

You are enjoying the small moments in life, like watching the wind go through the trees. Can you imagine that it feels like a fresh breeze on the naked skin? It gives you pleasure to think that trees can enjoy these human interactions no? It makes them feel alive.

You love to walk around your neighbourhood and discover magical places. It can be anything, just like beautiful architecture around the corner, an office of a famous designer, a majestic church with a hidden park, a reflection of the sun on the river or seeing people enjoying each other companies on the empty streets.

Life is full of surprises. I am full of joy, you are back to take it all in. Never forget conditions in life happen for a reason. If it doesn’t work out for you one way, it will work out for you, the other way. Life will not let you down, trust me.

One important lesson in life, never forgot that happiness comes from within. This will lead you to much richer moments in life and I am delighted you are on the right path.

Always keep in touch with your higher self and many wonderful choices will follow.

 Love you always,

 Me. -D.Widjaja-

PHOTOGRAPHY | THE ROAD AHEAD

Hello Lovely People,

New pictures I want to share with you on my website are these pictures taken on a 10km walk through the city centre of London in 4 hours. The pictures are taken with my phone, honor 10, and edited on my laptop.

This series “The road ahead” is based on this beautiful walk on a Friday evening in July 2020. Fun fact is that where ever we go, the road back home is always straight ahead.

In love with the St. Pauls area, such a lovely neighbourhood with the St Paul's Cathedral peeking out of every corner.

London has such a fascinating architectural history. I am discovering something new every day. There are so many hidden corners, parks and buildings, just a feast for my eyes.

ENJOY!
