London’s festive displays are one of my favourite reasons to explore the city in November and December. This approximately three-hour walk takes you past decorated luxury shops, famous Christmas lights and some of the best Christmas displays in Central London.

Start at Green Park and Annabel’s
Begin at Green Park Underground Station and walk towards Annabel’s in Berkeley Square. The private members’ club is known for transforming its exterior into an elaborate seasonal display, making it a popular festive photo stop.
Christmas displays on New Bond Street
Continue towards New Bond Street, where luxury shops compete for attention with impressive Christmas decorations.
During my walk, Cartier’s illuminated façade was one of the standout displays. Dior was another beautiful stop, while the Christmas tree decorated with bears outside Ralph Lauren added a playful touch to the route.
Fortnum 
& Mason
From Bond Street, continue towards Fortnum & Mason. Its Christmas windows often tell festive stories, while the shop itself is a lovely place to browse seasonal food, decorations and gifts.
Regent Street Christmas angels
The next stop is Regent Street, where the famous Spirit of Christmas angels stretch above the road. They are among London’s most recognisable festive lights and look especially beautiful after dark.
For 2026, the Regent Street Christmas lights are scheduled to return on 5 November.
Leicester Square and Covent Garden
Continue towards Leicester Square, where you can enjoy the festive atmosphere and seasonal market.
From Leicester Square, walk to Covent Garden to see its large Christmas tree and the decorations around the Market Building and Piazza. Covent Garden’s 2026 festive lights are scheduled to switch on on 12 November.
Carnaby Street and Liberty London
If you still have time and energy, continue towards Carnaby Street. Its Christmas theme changes regularly, so the display may look different from the one shown in my photographs.
Nearby Liberty London is another worthwhile stop for festive decorations and Christmas shopping.
Finish on Oxford Street
Complete the walk on Oxford Street, where seasonal lights stretch above one of London’s busiest shopping streets. From here, you can continue exploring or take the Underground home.
Planning your Christmas display walk
Allow approximately three hours for this route, or longer if you want to shop, take photographs or stop for food. Wear comfortable shoes and begin in the late afternoon so you can see the displays illuminated after dark.
