My Hamilton London review comes from a musical experience I loved so much that I went back to see it a second time. I knew very little about the production before my first visit, so from the opening song onwards, the story, music and energy completely swept me away. The London cast was incredible, the Victoria Palace Theatre was beautiful, and the combination of singing, rap and history felt unlike anything I had seen on stage before.
Why Hamilton Felt So Different
Hamilton is a sung-and-rapped-through musical created by Lin-Manuel Miranda. It tells the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton through a blend of hip-hop, rap, R&B, jazz and traditional musical theatre.
I had never experienced a musical told in this way before. The pace is fast, but the music carries the story so naturally that I was drawn in from the first note. The cast I saw in London had extraordinary voices, and every performance felt full of confidence and energy.
I will not spoil the story, because discovering it as the evening unfolded was part of what made my first visit feel so special. There are so many memorable songs throughout the production, and I finally understood why Hamilton had become one of the most celebrated musicals in the world.
Why I Saw Hamilton Twice
The first performance stayed with me so strongly that I eventually had to see Hamilton again. On my second visit, I watched from the stalls. My particular seat had a slightly restricted view, but because I already knew the production, it did not take away from the experience.
Seeing the musical for a second time allowed me to notice details in the lyrics, staging and performances that I had missed before. It also confirmed that my reaction to the first show was not simply the excitement of discovering something new. Hamilton really was that good.

Is Hamilton Worth Seeing in London?
For me, Hamilton is absolutely worth seeing. The music, storytelling and performances made an immediate impression, while the Victoria Palace Theatre added to the feeling of a special West End night.
The story moves quickly, so some concentration helps, especially if English is not your first language. Even so, the emotion and energy come through clearly. I loved the production from the first note to the final moment, and seeing it twice only made me appreciate it more.

If you are attending an evening performance, you could explore Westminster and the royal landmarks beforehand. A daytime walking tour covering Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben and Parliament makes a natural pairing with Hamilton at the nearby Victoria Palace Theatre.
