HELLO FOODIE | AFTERNOON TEA AT THE RITZ LONDON

Hello Beautiful Souls and welcome to another foodie blog in foodtober this September. Today, I’m excited to share my recent visit to The Ritz London afternoon tea with my mum on a lovely Sunday afternoon. From the moment we stepped into the hotel, we knew we were in for a divine experience.

The inside of the hotel is incredibly luxurious, and the afternoon tea room is no exception. The beautiful yellow and gold tones create a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel like royalty. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and shown to our table where we were presented with a selection of teas to choose from.

The selection of teas is incredible, and I was intrigued to try something new. I opted for the passionfruit with orange tea, and it did not disappoint. It was the perfect balance of sweet and tangy and went well with the fresh scones, sweets, and sandwiches that were brought to our table.

Speaking of the food, it was delicious! The scones were perfectly baked, and the clotted cream and jam were heavenly. The sweets were beautifully presented and tasted just as good as they looked. And the sandwiches were made with the freshest ingredients and were a delightful mix of savoury and sweet.

To add to the ambience, a musician was playing the harp and piano, which was the cherry on top of the perfect afternoon. The service was top-notch, and to our surprise, we were presented with a birthday cake to celebrate our special day.

The only downside to the experience was that it was only 90 minutes, which when you’re having fun and taking it all in, feels quite short. But fear not, you can take home all the sweets you couldn’t finish!

At the end of the afternoon tea, we decided to add a glass of champagne to our experience, which made it even more special. The price for the whole experience was around 92 pounds, which was well worth it for the luxurious atmosphere, delicious food, and excellent service.

As a foodie, I couldn’t resist buying the cookbook as a souvenir of a wonderful day. It’s filled with recipes for the delicious treats we enjoyed, and I can’t wait to recreate them at home.

In conclusion, if you’re looking for a luxurious and indulgent afternoon tea experience, The Ritz London should be at the top of your list. From the stunning decor to the delicious food and excellent service, it’s a treat for all the senses. Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoyed my foodie blog post about my visit to The Ritz London afternoon tea.

HELLO FOODIE | SKETCH THE LECTURE ROOM & LIBRARY

Hey Beautiful Souls and Fellow Foodies! I have something exciting to share with you! For this foodtober, I got the chance to visit not one, but two of the most exclusive and high-end restaurants in town. After La Dame De Pic, Sketch Lecture Room and Library was one of the fine dining restaurants on my to-do list for years. This year it finally happened, and let me tell you, it was a dream come true!

This 3 Michelin star restaurant is truly one of a kind, and the tasting menu crafted by Head Chef Daniel Stucki and Master Chef Pierre Gagnaire was an unforgettable experience. The sommelier even recommended a rare fruity champagne, which was hands down the best I’ve ever tasted!

From the [very] first bite, I knew I was in for an incredible culinary journey. We started with the delicious bread and brioche, followed by an Ostra Regal Oyster and a thin slice of Scottish Trout with Oscietra Caviar cream, which was [easily] my favourite dish. And that was just the beginning!

The langoustine tail roasted with liquorice butter, white asparagus with black truffle, and spinach with parmesan were equally delightful. And the Argenteuil ice cream was something very peculiar but magnificent, to say the least.

As the night progressed, we savoured the flavours of poached duck foie gras, line-caught cod, clams and green cabbage, sea urchin bisque, Bresse chicken roasted on the crown with citrus and aromatics, a winter salad, and Pierre Gagnaire’s grand dessert, which was a feast for the eyes and the taste buds.

I was pleasantly surprised by how full I felt after all the tastings, but the staff still managed to surprise me with a birthday sweet. Oh, and don’t forget to visit the restroom – it’s[definitely] worth checking out!

All in all, Sketch Lecture Room and Library was an exceptional dining experience that I will never forget. A [big] thank you to my mom for joining me on this culinary journey and making my birthday so special. So, if you’re looking for an unforgettable “foodie” adventure, Sketch is the place to be! It is best to book this experience way in advance.

HELLO FOODIE | LA DAME DE PIC AT FOUR SEASONS HOTEL

Hello Beautiful Souls! Welcome back to a new “Hello Foodie” blog post this #Foodtober in September. Today I am bringing you to my first-ever Michelin-star restaurant named “La Dame De Pic”. If you like to do a fine dining experience once in your life or now and then, this is an excellent choice!

La Dame De Pic at Four Seasons Hotel is a French Brasserie Deluxe. This restaurant retains two Michelin stars in the 2022 Michelin guide. Anne-Sophie Pic is the fourth female chef with three Michelin stars for her restaurant Maison Pic in the South of France. In total, she holds ten Michelin Stars.

There are two options for the tasting menu, the Journey and the Voyage. We went for the Voyage tasting menu. Be prepared to take this “voyage” with lots of explosions of different flavours. Take your time because the tasting menu will take around four to five hours. It is [definitely] an experience you want to share with someone. I enjoyed every second of the experience. What I enjoyed the most was the company, the beauty around me, the friendly staff, and [of course] the food.

You start with two appetizers, some fluffy bread and some rose butter. The tasting continues with a Cornish Crab, Berlingots, Burdock Root, Scottish Langoustines (full of flavours), Wild Seabass and Caviar, Limousine Veal [topped with black truffles] or Fallow Deer. Then a Saint-Marcellin. We had a White Millefeuille [a signature dish] and Blackberry for dessert. Afterwards, they were so kind to give the birthday girl another dessert, a birthday cake and some sweets. After five hours of tasting, you get full and fulfilled.

I am very grateful for this experience. If you like to book a table, I suggest booking in advance.

HELLO FOODIE | PUREZZA CAMDEN

Hello Beautiful Souls! Welcome back to another food blog post for this foodtober this September.  If you like my vegan suggestions here on the food corner, then [definitely] stick around. Purezza is a [completely] vegan pizzeria that is passionate about sustainability.

This place is truly heaven for vegans, but you don’t have to be one to enjoy one of their pizzas. If you see any meaty pizzas on the menu, don’t worry, it is not real meat or cheese.

When I saw black truffle pizza on the menu, I had to try it. The base is black truffle with mozz[ar]ella, roasted pancetta and wild mushrooms. I was slightly disappointed that the black truffle was a paste. The flavour of the actual truffle was minimal. The pancetta was not the best, but the mozz[ar]ella was very good. Overall the pizza was good. I think my friend enjoyed her pizza a lot better. She had the seasonal pizza with lots of seasonal vegetables on top.

I would [definitely] go back to try another pizza. The pizza base itself is tasty. Next to pizzas, they have small plates as well. The cheezy dough balls were yummy, but if you are eating a pizza, it might be too much dough
