I can’t contain my excitement as I recount my extraordinary culinary journey at Cornerstone Chef by Tom Brown. Nestled in the heart of Hackney Wick, this unassuming neighbourhood holds a treasure trove of flavours and experiences that are bound to leave you speechless. My mom and I decided to treat ourselves to the tasting menu on July 15th, 2023, and from the very first bite, we knew we were in for a treat.

As we started, a delightful amuse-bouche with cheesy undertones set the tone for the evening. Each dish that followed was a work of art on a plate, thoughtfully prepared and meticulously presented.

The Pickled Oyster with cucumber, horseradish, and dill was absolute heaven – one of the best oysters I’ve ever had the pleasure of savouring. And the Bream Tartare was an explosion of freshness and creativity that left us in awe.

The atmosphere at the restaurant was equally enchanting. The staff ensured that we had ample time to savour each course, allowing us to relax, enjoy, sip our drinks, and indulge in heartfelt conversations. It truly felt like a dining experience like no other, where time seemed to slow down, and every moment was cherished.

As the evening drew to a close, my mom and I exchanged glances, knowing that this was an experience we would treasure forever. Cornerstone Chef by Tom Brown not only lived up to its Michelin-starred reputation but exceeded all expectations, leaving us with memories that will linger in our hearts for years to come.

Though Cornerstone is no longer, Tom Brown’s new spot, Pearl Queen -Oyster/ Seafood and Winebar in Shoreditch (@pearlqueenoysterbar), is a must-visit for seafood lovers!
