I walked past the queues outside Roti King Euston for years when I lived nearby, but they always discouraged me from going inside. When I finally returned in 2026, I discovered that the wait moved faster than expected, and that this popular Malaysian restaurant still deserves its reputation.

Where Is Roti King Euston?

Roti King Euston is at 40 Doric Way, a short walk from Euston station. It is also within walking distance of King’s Cross and St Pancras, making it convenient for a meal before or after a train journey.

The Roti King Euston Queue: How Long Is the Wait?

Roti King Euston is well known for its queues, and seeing the line outside used to put me off visiting. When I went on a Saturday evening, however, I waited only around 10–15 minutes.
That was my experience rather than a guaranteed waiting time; the queue will vary depending on the day, time and group size. The service was efficient, and the line moved more quickly than I expected.

What to Expect: Casual Dining & Affordable PricesFood and drinks menu at Roti King Euston

Roti King is a casual, fast-paced restaurant suited to a quick meal rather than a long dinner. The menu includes roti canai, murtabak, curries, rice and noodle dishes, with dine-in and takeaway available.
  • Service is quick once you are seated.
  • Portions are generous, and several dishes work well for sharing.
  • Spice levels vary, so ask the team if you prefer something milder.
  • Check the current menu before visiting, as dishes and prices may change.

What to Order at Roti King Euston

We ordered a mix of dishes to try a bit of everything:
Ayam Goreng Berempah
This spiced fried chicken came with a sambal dipping sauce. The chicken was crisp and flavourful, while the sambal added the familiar chilli heat I enjoy.
Roti Canai with Beef Rendang
The flaky roti canai was served with rich, slow-cooked beef rendang. I would have preferred the curry slightly spicier and the beef a little juicier, but the dish was still very enjoyable overall.
Roti Canai with Dhal
This was the milder option: comforting, full of flavour and a good choice for anyone who prefers less heat.
Spinach and Cheese Murtabak
The roti was filled with spinach and melted cheese and served with dhal. It was rich, comforting and very filling.
Lamb Murtabak
I ordered this to take away because I was already full after trying the other dishes.

Portion Size & Prices: Is Roti King Cheap?

The portions were generous, and we ordered more food than we could finish. Our bill came to around £30 per person, but that included several dishes and enough leftovers to take home.
Prices may change, so I would describe Roti King as good value rather than simply “cheap.” Sharing a few dishes is a practical way to sample more of the menu without over-ordering.

Flavours That Feel Familiar

What I personally loved is how the flavours reminded me of Indonesian cuisine and even dishes from my home country, Suriname. If you enjoy Asian food with bold spices and depth, this place really delivers.

Final Verdict: Is Roti King Euston Worth the Queue?

Yes. Based on my visit, Roti King Euston was worth the short wait. The relaxed setting, generous portions and bold Malaysian flavours made it a satisfying and good-value meal.
The roti canai was the highlight, particularly with the beef rendang and dhal. Waiting times will vary, but I would return, and I would not let the sight of a queue discourage me next time.
