HELLO LONDON | OREE – BOULANGERIE PATISSERIE

Hello Beautiful Souls, can you believe it’s already December? Today, I want to tell you about my experience at Oree Boulangerie Patisserie in Covent Garden. If you’re looking for a great place for a quick lunch or coffee break that won’t break the bank, then Oree is worth a visit.

The first thing that caught my eye when I walked in was the huge selection of sandwiches, cakes, and sweets. It was hard to choose just one, but I finally decided on a delicious croque monsieur sandwich. The bread was fresh and crispy, and the filling was just the right balance of savoury and creamy. After my sandwich, I decided to indulge in a sweet treat and opted for a brownie.

The coffee was excellent and the perfect pick-me-up for a busy day in Covent Garden. And the best part? Oree’s prices are very reasonable, so you can enjoy a lovely lunch or coffee break without breaking the bank.

The atmosphere at Oree is relaxed and welcoming. They were happy to answer my questions and offer recommendations, making my dining experience all the more enjoyable.

Overall, I would highly recommend Oree Boulangerie Patisserie for anyone looking for a delicious and affordable lunch or coffee break in Covent Garden. With so many lovely sandwiches and pastries to choose from, you’re sure to find something to satisfy your cravings.

Thanks for reading, and if you’ve been to Oree, let me know your favourite sandwich or pastry!

HELLO LONDON | ANGELO MUSA AT HARRODS

Hello Beautiful Souls! Welcome back to another weekly blog post. Today, I want to share my experience dining at Harrods Patisserie Angelo Musa.

Angelo Musa is a Pastry World Champion, the Best Craftsman in France, and Executive Pastry Chef at the Michelin-starred Hôtel Plaza Athénée in Paris. His expertise in pastry is well-known, and I couldn’t wait to try his creations at Harrods. The Patisserie is on the Fourth Floor at Harrods.

We decided to try the black truffle sandwich, and it was divine! The sandwich was perfectly toasted, and the black truffle added a depth of flavour that was simply amazing. To complement our meal, we ordered a rose-infused tea that was refreshing and perfectly balanced. I love a perfect rose tea. This tea is just as perfect as, the one I had at Sketch the Gallery.

Overall, our short break at Harrods was a wonderful experience. Angelo Musa’s creations are a must-try for anyone who loves pastry and is a must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth. If you’re ever in London, I highly recommend dining at Harrods patisserie Angelo Musa on the Fourth Floor. Thanks for reading this week’s blog post!

HELLO LONDON | GUY FAWKES NIGHT – BATTERSEA PARK FIREWORKS

Hello Beautiful Souls! It is this time of the year, Bonfire night! I love a great Bonfire night with beautiful fireworks. Bonfire night is the 5th of November and a time to remember/celebrate the gunpowder plot that happened on that day in 1605. The gunpowder plot is now known as Guy Fawkes Night or Bonfire Night.

The gunpowder plot was a failed attempt to kill King James I by a group of English Catholics. On the 5th of November [1605], this group of English Catholics planned to blow up the House of Lords during the State opening of the Parliament. Guy Fawkes, who had ten years of military experience, was given charge of the explosives. The authorities heard about the plot and searched the House of Lords on the 4th of November. They discovered Guy Fawkes guarding 36 barrels of explosives that were enough to blow up the Parliament and got arrested. The gunpowder plot was celebrated back then by ringing the Church Bells. It evolved into Bonfire night over the years.

Every year there are parks in London where you can celebrate Bonfire nights. The most beautiful fireworks I have seen are at Battersea Park. At Battersea Park, the Bonfire night is for two days on the weekend of the 5th of November. You don’t have to break the bank to buy a ticket, but buy your ticket in advance. Other places to see fireworks are Alexandra Palace, Crystal Palace and Victoria Park. The last time I went to Victoria Park was years ago to see the fireworks [free entrance back then].

Happy Bonfire Night!
