HELLO LONDON | LONDON IN THE SKY

Hello Beautiful Souls, welcome back to a new blog post! I am happy you tuned in again. I am pretty excited to tell you all about this week’s experience. It is mainly for the daredevils among us, so if you are looking for something thrilling, a spot for some cocktails and an epic view, look no further. I got you covered with this experience. [Thank me later]

London in the Sky is an experience from up in the sky, 100ft [30 meters] high. [That is right, 100 ft high and drinking cocktails, what else do we need] You can choose from different arrangements, from only cocktails to brunch or dinner. Of course, I went for the cocktail arrangement [around 6:30 pm, so there is a chance you will see a bit of sunset around this time]. The cocktail arrangement includes three cocktails that you can enjoy with an epic view for more or less an hour. The menu has the classic cocktails with a twist, including my favourite Espresso Martini.

The London in the Sky is next to the O2 Arena, which gives you an excellent [breathe taking] view of Canary Wharf. It is open till the end of August, so plenty of time to book a slot here. It is [kind of] pricy, but worth it if you aren’t afraid of height and looking for a once in a lifetime experience.

HELLO LONDON | THE RAPHAEL CARTOONS

Hello beautiful Souls! Recently I have been to the V&A [Victoria & Albert Museum] in South Kensington with a new friend. Friday evenings are the best to explore museums. Luckily the V&A opened their doors on Fridays again till late. One thing to consider is that not the complete museum is open Friday evenings, but this doesn’t spoil the visit. There are still a lot of beautiful halls, rooms, and free exhibits to see.

The Raphael Cartoons

If you go to the Raphael Court in Room 48a, you will enter a room with seven full-scale designs for tapestry painted by [the master] himself, Raphael. The Queen generously gave the cartoons to the V&A on loan, which makes this exhibit ongoing. Pope Leo X commissioned this in 1515 for the Sistine Chapel. The designs tell you the bible story of [the lives of the apostles] Saint Peter and Saint Paul. The work is just massive and beautiful to take in.

The V&A has [such] a broad collection of massive objects, like a plaster copy of the Trajan’s Column. [This giant looked so real]. You can spend weeks in this museum and learn lots of new things.

HELLO LONDON | BAO NOODLE SHOP

Hello Beautiful Souls! This Taiwanese noodle shop you don’t want to miss. It is in the heart of Shoreditch on Redchurch street on the corner and opens till late [11 pm]. [Perfect, right?]

Their menu looks so yummy that you can go for lunch or dinner. For lunch, I tried the fluffy bao buns and the crispy tripe. These buns were heaven and super affordable for around £5,00 to £8,00. I did try the classic bun and the prawn croquette bun, which was so fluffy and tasty. The tripe was surprisingly good! It was a bit too much with the buns [for lunch] but worth it.

One thing you should try is one of their beef noodles. [It is a Noodle shop after all] The rare beef with some egg yolk is so nourishing that you will leave satisfied. [Trust me] They make [awesome] cocktails as well. The Milk Tea old fashioned was just excellent. They even have some vegan options if you like. There are two vegan buns to try. The service is excellent, which I am happily surprised to see in a small shop. Always good to have some tap water on the table.

HELLO LONDON | VAN GOGH SELF PORTRAITS

Hello Beautiful Souls! After the Van Gogh immersive experience, I was delighted that this exhibition was coming up at the Courtauld Gallery. Seeing these self-portraits together is one of a kind event that I didn’t want to miss.

The Self-Portrait with Bandaged Ear is an iconic item already in the Courtauld collection. Seeing all these sixteen portraits together has never been done before after each canvas left the Van Gogh studio. Van Gogh made thirty-five portraits in total.

These portraits are stunning. It is such an honour to see them up close and personal. You can see the techniques he learned over the years in Paris and the South of France. The contrast of the colours [blues and greens] he used next to his painting techniques, from pointillism to [Impasto] brush strokes, is just perfection.

Unfortunately, this exhibition has passed, but you can still admire the self-portrait with the Bandaged Ear at the Courtauld Gallery.
