Hello Beautiful Souls, On a hot, almost-summer day, I found myself at a quirky little gem tucked away in Milton Keynes called Volcano Falls Adventure Golf for our teambuilding event, located inside the Escape Centre. This wasn’t your average mini-golf spot. It was a place where nostalgia meets novelty, with two themed courses that felt like little cinematic journeys.
Milton Keynes might not be the first place that comes to mind when planning an escape from London, but hear me out. It is just 45 minutes (more or less) by train from London Euston, making it a surprisingly easy day trip that offers something fun and refreshingly different. Especially if you're not looking to wander through another museum or battle the usual city crowds.
Volcano Falls features two themed mini golf courses. The upstairs one has a retro circus twist, complete with a fortune teller machine that looks like it walked right off the set of the movie Big.
Downstairs, the course transforms into a wild Jurassic experience. Larger, louder, and filled with dinosaurs, this level feels like a mini adventure. The animatronic creatures are fun without being too intense, perfect for both kids and adults. Even for someone like me, not exactly a golf pro, it was a great way to spend an afternoon.
Although Milton Keynes has a large shopping mall near the station, I wouldn’t recommend it unless you live here.
