Hello Beautiful Souls, Some exhibitions quietly bloom into your memory—and FLOWERS – Flora in Contemporary Art & Culture is one of them.

Running from 12 February to 5 May 2025 at the Saatchi Gallery, this vibrant and multi-sensory exhibit felt like stepping into an ever-evolving garden of artistic expression. Lucky for you, it reopened from May 31 to August 31, 2025, so plenty of time to go. Housed across two floors and nine immersive rooms, this exhibit at the venue (you know which one) was a full-blown celebration of florals in every sense—from fashion to photography, still life to digital landscapes.

flowers_saatchi_galleryI hadn’t expected to see so many interpretations of something we often consider so delicate. Flowers here were not just beautiful—they were powerful. They symbolised memory, love, rebellion, even decay. Some artists used real petals, others painted metaphors, and some even recreated entire installations from thousands of dried blooms.flowers_saatchi_gallery

One room, filled with over 100,000 dried flowers suspended from the ceiling (thank you, Rebecca Louise Law), felt like standing inside a suspended garden—a quiet, scented universe that required stillness. Another room offered something entirely different—a bright, digital bloomscape by Miguel Chevalier that reacts to your movement. The digital flowers shimmered, danced, and opened like they were welcoming each step. So much fun in pixels!

Fashion lovers will be happy to know that Vivienne Westwood’s floral inspirations were also woven into the journey, with stunning designs on display. There was a strong presence of commercial meets creative, too—some of the artwork was even available for purchase (tempting, honestly).

flowers_saatchi_galleryNine themed sections invited you to reflect, interact, or bask in the soft power of flowers, from their historical significance to their presence in modern design and science. It was more than just pretty pictures—it was a gentle but firm reminder of how deeply flora is rooted in everything we do, feel, and remember.

This exhibit truly blossomed into something unforgettable, like walking through a love letter to nature, imagination, and creativity.

If you ever needed a reason to appreciate art in bloom, this was it, and now you have a second chance to go!

With love,
