Hello Beautiful Souls,
A year has come to an end, and what a journey it has been! From milestones and unforgettable travels to moments of art, culture, and cherished family time, 2024 has been a year of growth and gratitude. As I reflect on these highlights, I’m reminded of the joy in embracing life fully—its lessons, laughter, and love.
My Year in Review: 2024 Highlights ✨
January: Started the year in London, mesmerized by the Battersea Power Station Light Festival. Fingers crossed it returns in 2025 because it was absolutely stunning.
February: I turned 40 this month! A milestone that shifted my perspective—it’s been the year of choosing me, letting go of what doesn’t serve my life anymore. I celebrated with an unforgettable dinner at Park Heuvel in my hometown, surrounded by family.
March: Immersed myself in art and empowerment at the V&A. The “Diva” exhibit and one on Pasquarosa, an inspiring Italian artist I had never heard of before, made me reflect deeply on women’s strength and creativity. ✨
April: Family trip to Bali (minus my mum, who thankfully recovered and is doing great now). Explored the island with lots of excursions, laughter, and adventure. Even a flight cancellation to Dubai couldn’t dampen our spirits—it gave us extra days to soak it all in.
May: Back home in London, I indulged in city life:
- Drinks in Notting Hill
- Masterpieces like Caravaggio at the National Gallery
- An emotional experience with the Expressionists at Tate Modern
- Hosted a brunch for a dear friend
June: Music, art, and milestones:
- Saw my favorite band, Kings of Leon, at BST Hyde Park
- Got chills at the terrifying Stranger Things: The Play
- Explored Sargent and Fashion at Tate Britain
- Celebrated love at my cousin’s wedding in the Netherlands ❤️
July: Art and culture overload:
- The Naomi Campbell Exhibit at the V&A
- The unforgettable musical Cabaret
- The Barbie Exhibit at the Design Museum—a reminder of Barbie’s evolution and empowerment
- Also added some cosy touches to my home
August: Jet-set month!
- Brindisi: Invited by a lovely acquaintance. Despite the heat, I lived in the sea and loved every second ☀️
- Paris with my mum: Delighted to see her back to her vibrant self. We walked, laughed, ate, and bonded like never before. Even found Parisians to be extra kind this time!
- Renewed my passport and spent time with my favourite cousin in Eindhoven ❤️
September: A quieter month to focus on myself. Started studying web development with SheCodes and marveled at the Van Gogh “Lovers & Poets” Exhibit at the National Gallery. ✨
October:
- A quick trip to the Netherlands to see Fred & Friends with my mum and aunt—a yearly tradition I treasure
- Dipped my toes into a Halloween girls-only meetup but realized it wasn’t for me.
November: Hosted my favourite couple in London! Highlights:
- Christmas light tour ✨
- Lunch at Aqua Shard
- Cosy nights with “borrels” (Dutch-style gatherings) in my place
December: Wrapped up the year with joy:
- Posted a reel of the St. Pancras Wicked Tree, and it hit 1600+ views!
- My cactus bloomed (finally)!
- Quality time in the Netherlands: laughter, love, and dinners with my mum and family. Highlights include:
- Seeing Roue Verveer with mum and aunt
- Visiting Blijdorp Zoo
- Christmas Eve dinner at Jofel—their ribeye carpaccio was divine.
As 2024 ends, I’m thankful for all the memories and lessons this year brought me. Wishing everyone a beautiful, healthy, and joyful 2025! ❤️
xx, Miss Widjaja
