HELLO LONDON | Lightfield Exhibition

Hello Lovely People, welcome back to a new blog post about some fun stuff to do around London. If you haven’t been yet, go to the Marble Arch Mound, which is an artificial hill in Marble Arch near Hyde Park.

The hill is around 25 meters high. You will have a 360 degrees view from the top. The mound itself is not that spectacular, to be honest, but if you are in the neighbourhood on your way to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park or for a shopping spree in Oxford Street, why not pass by?

There is an enlightening exhibition for free from Anthony James, worth every minute of your time spent on the mound. Find the exhibition on the ground floor, divided into three dark rooms. The exhibition itself is only until December 2021.

You can visit the hill up to the 9th of January 2022.

HELLO LONDON | London Winter Walk 2022

Good day, Lovely People, I am super excited to let you all know I am raising money for Woman’s Trust by walking the London Winter Walk on the 29th of January in 2022. The walk is going to be a half marathon through the city of London starting from The Oval. It is a 21 km walk starting and finishing at The Oval Cricket Ground in Vauxhall.

It will be my first time walking for a charity and the London Winter Walk. I am super proud I am supporting Woman’s Trust with this walk. One thing I do believe is we should support, embrace and motivate each other much more as women. Sometimes we need to know that someone will be there for us, especially if we experience domestic abuse in any way.

Woman’s Trust helps women who have experienced domestic abuse by providing free counselling and therapy. This charity is a specialist in mental health.

Woman’s Trust is independent, offers confidential services specifically for women in London who have experienced:

  • domestic violence
  • emotional abuse
  • sexual abuse
  • financial abuse
  • controlling behaviour
  • other forms of domestic abuse

If you know anyone who can benefit from their services, please don’t hesitate to check out their website for contact details. On their website, you will see in which area they can provide support.

If you like to donate and support Woman’s Trust, you can do it directly via my just giving page I have set up, click here. I hope to reach my target and raise more than 160GBP for Woman’s Trust before the walk.

If you like to join the walk yourself and raise money for a charity you feel passionate about, please click here.

[Update – I did the walk in 4,5 hours along the River Thames. We had a beautiful sunny day and the best part I did raise 350GBP for Woman’s Trust :D]

HELLO LONDON | STREET ART PENGE WEST

Hello Lovely People, Welcome to a new blog post. A recent finding for some inspiring street art by a friend is in Penge West. I have never been to this place before, to be honest, there is not much to do here, except to go for a long walk and discover some stunning street art in the surrounding neighbourhood and streets.

Most of the street art you will find in Maple Road, next to High Street. I would recommend going early morning or afternoon, so you can see the art as it gets dark pretty soon this time of the year.

The art below is all the street art we could find. There are some excellent pieces between them. See if you can spot them all when you are in Penge West. For more information regarding street art, check out London calling Blog as well.

HELLO LONDON | MICHELANGELO’S SISTINE CHAPEL

Hello Lovely People, Welcome back to a new blog post. It is time for some cultural recommendations in and around London while everything is opening up.

A recent recommendation is the Michelangelo exhibition regarding the frescos in the Sistine Chapel. If you are a fan like me, you will love it.

All the frescos are beautifully displayed and projected onto walls and the ceiling in two halls.

You will get the chance to see The Last Judgement and all its details. Another famous fresco not to forget is The Creation of Adam. I booked an audio tour to get all the juicy details about each fresco, which is only three pounds or less if you use the app on your phone.

The Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel exhibition in Tottenham Hale is until the 2nd of January 2022. Find the frescos at the Cannon factory.

It will be a great way to see all the frescos in the Sistine Chapel from up close and personal. Go and see it while it lasts, definitely worth a visit.
