HELLO MUSICAL | TINA TURNER

Hello, Beautiful Souls, Today's English grammar lesson: "Once is an experience. Twice is a love story." And that's exactly how I feel about Tina Turner the Musical.

I first saw this powerful production back in 2023, and it stayed with me deeply. So when the opportunity came up to see it again, this time with my mum, I didn't hesitate. She'd seen the musical already, too, during its run in the Netherlands, but we both knew that some stories are worth reliving. Especially this one.tina_turner_the_musical

Now, a little hiccup: the audience wasn't the quietest at the start of the show. A few distracting noises here and there, which sadly interrupted the energy. Luckily, things settled down in the second half, and we could fully enjoy the magic that unfolded on stage. Fortunately, we'd both seen it before, so we weren't completely taken out of the moment.

And still, it hit us. Hard.

What makes Tina Turner's story so incredibly moving is not just the music (which is, of course, iconic) but the woman behind it. She is, without question, one of the strongest women to have ever lived. From enduring and surviving the trauma of her relationship with Ike Turner to later meeting someone who gave her the kindness and love she deserved, her journey is one of raw resilience.tina_turner_the_musical

But it's not just about survival, it's about rebirth.

She didn't just leave the past behind; she built something entirely new. A career that truly became hers. A sound, a presence, a power that was all her own. And the musical captures that with such emotion, it's electrifying, heartbreaking, and ultimately soaring.

The cast? Outstanding. The energy? Unmatched. The music? I dare you not to sing along in your head. (Because we are not at a karaoke)

If you haven't seen Tina Turner the Musical, let this be your sign to go. Whether it's your first time or your fifth, it's one of those shows that speaks to your soul, especially if you've ever had to find your strength again.

Final thoughts?

  1. Go for the music, stay for the story.
  2. Bring someone you love, and let it move you.
  3. And remember: you're simply the best, too.
