HELLO LONDON | ARCADE FOOD HALL – BEBEK BEBEK

Hello Beautiful Souls! This week in the food corner, a food hall called Arcade on New Oxford Street near Tottenham Court Road Station. Have you ever found yourself in a sticky situation with your friends where no one can agree on where to eat? Fear not, because Arcade Food Hall on New Oxford Street has got you covered! With twelve food stalls to choose from, everyone is sure to find something they love. Once you are in, you can order via a barcode and pay online. Super easy.

Now, let’s talk about the star of the show: Bebek! Bebek! This Indonesian street food stall uses fresh ingredients straight from the chef’s farm in Dorset, so you know it’s legit. You can choose from crispy chicken, duck (or “Bebek”), or aubergine with some tasty sides like turmeric rice, veggies, and sambal. The crispy chicken gave me serious Jakarta street food vibes, and the beef sate with peanut sauce was a real crowd-pleaser too.

But don’t just take my word for it, go back and try one of the other food stalls too. Who knows what kind of food adventure awaits? And if you’re a vegan, don’t worry, they’ve got plenty of options for you too. So why not hit up Arcade Food Hall and indulge in some delicious eats? Your taste buds (and friends) will thank you.

HELLO FESTIVAL | SOLOMUN OPEN AIR

Hello Beautiful Souls, here is another lifestyle blog post just for you! One of my favourite DJs was performing at Finsbury Park, so when I found out Solomun was djing, I just had to go.

This event was on a lovely summer day in August ’22. We had early bird tickets, so we had to be there around 2 pm. Luckily, many people came early, so it was already getting busy around that time. The music from the beginning was fantastic. Majdo and KrankBrother did a great job of getting everyone in the mood. It reminded me of the atmosphere of a good summer festival with amazing vibes. Everyone was super chill and lovely.

Finally, around six o’clock, Solomun arrived and took over the decks. The time we spent at the festival was very much enjoyable. I danced a lot and had great food. The only thing I didn’t like was the vaping and all the smoke at the park. It affected me when I left the park. My voice was gone. Luckily the next day, it was all fine again.

To listen to Solomun, Majdo and KrankBrother from this day, go to my Instagram and see the highlight.

HELLO LONDON | NAKED SOHO

Hello Beautiful Souls! Are you ready for a new weekly blog post about my experiences here in London? This week’s post is about a [kind of] trend from last year if we speak about upcoming new trendy restaurants. I am not sure if it still is a trend. If it is, it is a place more for drinks than dinner or lunch.

Last summer, roughly when it opened, I have been to Naked Soho. It is the first sex-themed restaurant where you can eat and have sexy cocktails. The place is cosy and colourfully decorated with all kinds of sexual objects [art]. Honestly, the artist who made all the art is incredible. I even wanted to buy a plate with a dick just because it was a unique piece.

We went around lunchtime and had a sharing platter and two sides of the toast with salmon and one with goat cheese. Not to forget, I had a cocktail on the side. Unfortunately, the toast was super dry, and the items on the platter were not that special. It doesn’t have to be Sketch quality, but slightly better than what you can get in the standard supermarket.

The cocktail I had was all good, so I would suggest going and checking this place out for drinks or desserts. I am usually all positive when I go and try new places, but I want to be honest [as well] with you.

Naked Soho is a sexy and trendy place for Instagram pics and cocktails. I am curious how well they are doing now and if a second visit is worth it.

HELLO GEMS | 123V BY CHEF ALEXIS GAUTHIER

Hello Beautiful Souls, this week’s blog post is [kind of] exciting even for meat lovers. 123V is a vegan cafeteria by chef Alexis Gauthier who received a Michelin star in 2011 for his restaurant Gauthier Soho.

Alexis Gauthier became vegan himself in 2016 and decided to change the complete menu to vegan in 2021. This year is when he opened the 123V vegan cafeteria. So far, it is a big success. I want to do the fine dining at Gauthier Soho, but for now, I tried the vegan cafeteria. It was impressive.

The sushi looked fantastic, but I had to try their famous cheeseburger first with chickpeas fries. As a meat lover, I didn’t taste the difference with real meat. It was juicy and as comforting as a real burger. Maybe even tastier because it was half the calories of a real meaty burger. The chickpeas fries were so yummy as well. The entire meal was so filling that I was delighted for hours after lunch.

Of course, I had to try a dessert as well. I went for the sorbet with the flavours; strawberry, lemon and mango. The sorbet was heaven! It was so fresh and full of flavours. A tiny side note was that the lemon sorbet was slightly syrupy but still tasty.

If you’re in the Mayfair area, you simply must check out 123V, the vegan cafeteria by Michelin star chef Alexis Gauthier. Trust me, this place is so good, even your carnivorous friends won’t be able to resist. In fact, they might even become vegan converts after trying some of the mouthwatering options on the menu. So gather your squad and head on over to 123V for a meal you won’t soon forget!
